Legal Assistant

The Office of the Second Judicial District Attorney improves the quality of life of the citizens of Bernalillo County by reducing crime through thoughtful enforcement of the law and the development of a criminal justice system. The Office is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and is seeking applicants for Legal Secretary positions with the Second Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

* Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: This position requires knowledge of the criminal justice system, general office equipment; good typing, word processing skills and operational knowledge of spreadsheet programs; good math, grammar and proof reading skills; Case Management System (CMS) skills and the ability to merge documents; the ability to prepare and draft legal documents; filing skills, and organizational skills; customer relations skills; ability to communicate effectively and follow directions and policies.

* Requirements: High school diploma or GED, plus two (2) years’ work experience in a related field.

* Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) years’ work experience and/or education in a related field.

* Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment. Some physical effort and travel may be required.
