Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Location:

Dallas, TX. This is a full time, on-site opportunity for someone who enjoys being an integral part of a collaborative litigation team and working closely with attorneys and colleagues in the office.

Note:

Candidates must have 5+ years of recent civil litigation legal support experience in a law firm. Strong knowledge of litigation deadlines, state and federal court e-filing, legal calendaring, and litigation procedures is essential.

Job Description

  • Provide high level administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling active civil and business litigation matters.
  • Coordinate preparation for hearings, trials, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, client meetings, and other case events.
  • Prepare, proofread, organize, and process legal documents and correspondence with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Calendar and monitor critical state and federal litigation deadlines.
  • E-file pleadings and other documents in Texas state and federal courts.
  • Maintain attorney calendars and coordinate meetings, appearances, deadlines, and case related commitments.
  • Organize and manage electronic and paper client files within a document management system.
  • Manage high volumes of email, documents, deadlines, and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, attorneys, and internal team members.
  • Handle sensitive client and case information with discretion and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recent civil litigation legal support experience in a law firm.
  • Advanced understanding of legal terminology, civil litigation procedures, court rules, and filing requirements.
  • Strong experience with state and federal court e-filing.
  • Strong litigation calendaring and deadline management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and email organization.
  • Experience with document management systems; eDocs experience is preferred.
  • Excellent proofreading, grammar, organization, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast paced, high volume litigation environment.
  • Typing speed of 65+ words per minute.
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to work effectively as part of an in-office team.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check.
