Job Description - Lending Manager

Description

Climb Credit Union is seeking a dynamic leader to manage our Lending Support Department and Lending Quality Control Analysts. This is more than a back-office role—it’s an opportunity to influence policy, perfect process, and directly support our mission of empowering members through responsible lending practices. Responsible for the direct management and development of the Credit Union’s Lending Support Department and Lending Quality Control Analysts. The incumbent will have strong knowledge around perfecting Consumer liens (autos and real estate), experience creating and maintaining lending quality control processes, and will work to proactively anticipate and advise changes into the Credit Union’s lending practices. This position will work closely with the VP of Lending to develop and execute departmental strategies that support lending and membership growth for the Credit Union.

Requirements

  • Lead a team of 6-8 Lending Support Representatives and Quality Control Analysts ensuring loan quality and recordkeeping goals are met or exceeded. Evaluate and report team performance and productivity through the development and maintenance of reporting tools. Instill a culture of accountability by setting clear expectations, measuring results, and coaching team members to create bench strength from which future leaders can be drawn. 
  • Monitor team pipelines to validate that service levels are being met. Work with Credit Union Leadership to develop and refine controls in processes to promote overall lending efficiency.
  • Support quality control team members and process by working proactively with Retail partners and the member experience team. Provide quality control audit results, training, and guidance to help improve Retail lending quality. 
  • Support team in acting as an escalation point for loan documentation that has aged beyond tolerances. 
  • The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust.
  • Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally).
  • Must have good communication skills. 
  • Experience onboarding and maintaining loan origination systems is a plus. 

Qualifications:   

  • Three to five years of similar or related experience in Lending and Quality Control. 
  • 1-3 years of experience in management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/related field or an equivalent combination of formal training and experience.  
  • Previous experience with financial institutions.
