The Library Services Coordinator is responsible for various operational responsibilities, to include creating and maintaining the library’s multimedia content and social media presence, coordinating library building maintenance requests, maintaining the library’s physical collections, and purchasing and invoice processing.
This position performs all circulation functions using current library management technologies, and models behavior that encourages a welcoming, efficient and effective experience for those who utilize the library and its resources.
Position Status: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $20.00 - $21.00. This is the expected hourly range for this position. The hourly range offered will depend on a candidate's experience and education, and departmental budget.
Reporting and Supervisory Relationship(s):
Reports to: Director, Library and Assistant Dean for Assessment and Accreditation
Supervises: Serves as a back-up supervisor for Student Access Services Clerks
Responsibilities
Creates and maintains the library’s multimedia content and social media accounts, ensuring that the content is current, accurate, and consistent with library communication goals and University brand standards established by Marketing and Communications.
Serves as the library building facilities contact and manages maintenance support requests, to include communicating status updates with appropriate library staff.
Supports the library’s purchasing needs, to include monitoring supply inventory, placing orders when appropriate, keeping purchasing records, and processing invoices.
Maintains the accurate order of the library’s physical collections, including shelf reading and reports related to items that are lost, missing, and claimed returned.
Manages the Course Reserve collection, including serving as point of contact for faculty, and ensures basic editing of catalog records is completed to ensure that the collection is kept current.
Assists with interlibrary loan functions in the absence of the Access Services Coordinator, including preparing items for transit between libraries or shipment through mail.
Provides general supervision and support for the Student Access Services Clerks in the absence of the Access Services Coordinator.
Assists in managing the Textbook Collection.
Collaborates with the Access Services team to process items being added to a collection once they have been cataloged, and to withdraw items weeded from a collection.
Assists with all circulation functions, including material check-in and check-out, and study room reservations.
Provides a high level of customer service for those wishing to use the library and its resources.
Writes and maintains relevant procedures for the position.
Troubleshoots technology issues when needed.
Opens and closes the library when needed, which requires some flexibility to cover evening and/or weekend hours as needed and when adequate notice is provided.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated equivalent
Demonstrated experience with social media in a professional environment
At least two years of work experience in a customer service environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Must be able to exercise initiative and work independently
Must have a strong attention to detail
Must be able to perform work with a high level of accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Comfortable using various forms of technology
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements The essential functions of this position are primarily performed in an indoor setting with limited exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Work is sometimes sedentary in nature and requires remaining in a stationary position for extended periods. Required abilities include speaking and hearing for in-person and virtual communication, using close and distance vision when reading documents or viewing screens, and performing tasks with repetitive fine motor skills. Work requires occasional lifting, bending, carrying, or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
