At State of the Heart Recovery, we are dedicated to empowering individuals on their journey to recovery from alcohol and substance use disorders. As a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC), you will play a pivotal role in the lives of clients by providing compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic services tailored to their unique needs. You will conduct assessments, facilitate individual and group counseling, and develop comprehensive treatment plans that promote resilience and lasting recovery.

Your work will be vital within a multidisciplinary team committed to creating a supportive and healing environment. You'll use your expertise in addiction counseling to guide clients through the complexities of recovery, helping them build coping strategies, life skills, and the confidence necessary for sustainable sobriety.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct thorough assessments and intake interviews to determine the needs of clients seeking treatment for substance use disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that reflect the needs, strengths, and goals of each client.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities.
  • Monitor client progress, provide feedback, and adjust treatment plans as necessary to meet evolving client needs.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute challenges during treatment.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and community resources to coordinate holistic care for clients and their families.
  • Engage in outreach and educational activities to promote awareness about substance use and recovery resources.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation that meets standards for licensure and complies with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and supervision to enhance clinical skills and maintain licensure.
  • Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality practices in all client interactions.

What You Will Bring

  • Current New Mexico licensure as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC).
  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the field of addiction counseling, particularly with co-occurring disorders.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for addiction treatment and recovery support.
  • Familiarity with local community resources and networks related to substance use and mental health services.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client visits and community engagements.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and documentation standards.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish rapport with clients and their families.
  • Commitment to maintaining ethical standards and practicing confidentiality at all times.
