About the Opportunity:

We’re seeking a Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) Manager to lead import operations for a well-established freight forwarder and customs brokerage firm in the JFK/NYC area. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and team supervision. You'll be the key point of contact for entry compliance, client management, and internal training across ocean and air imports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end customs clearance process for import shipments (air/ocean)
• Oversee entry filings, including 7501, 3461, ISF, and PGA documentation
• Lead a team of entry writers and clerks, providing compliance training and performance coaching
• Classify goods accurately using HTS codes and ensure regulatory alignment with CBP and OGA requirements (FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.)
• Coordinate with internal ops, account managers, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely release and delivery
• Monitor customs regulations and proactively implement changes to ensure compliance
• Respond to audits, CBP holds, and post-summary corrections

Qualifications:

• Active U.S. Customs Broker License (LCB) – Required
• Minimum 5 years in customs brokerage or import entry processing
• Prior team lead, supervisor, or managerial experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of HTS, ACE, FDA, EPA, USDA, and CBP protocols
• Proficiency in CargoWise, Descartes, or similar platforms
• Strong communication and documentation skills with attention to detail
• Experience across multiple commodities and trade lanes a plus
