Queens, NY – Full Time

Level: Manager/Supervisor

Overview
A leading international freight forwarding and logistics provider is seeking an experienced Customs Brokerage Manager to lead and oversee customs operations in the New York area. What We’re Looking For

  • 5–10 years of experience as a Customs Brokerage Manager (must be a licensed Customs Broker)
  • Proven ability to mentor, lead, and manage a high-performing Customs Brokerage team
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs procedures, import compliance, and related regulations
  • Ability to oversee the timely and accurate creation and transmission of customs entries

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage supervisors/managers within the Customs Brokerage department, providing leadership, guidance, and oversight
  • Directly supervise and mentor non-supervisory staff
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and all applicable laws and regulations
  • Oversee interviewing, hiring, and training of staff; assign and direct work; conduct performance evaluations; and address performance or disciplinary matters as needed
  • Prepare entry documentation from shipper’s invoices in compliance with U.S. Customs Service regulations and those of other federal agencies (EPA, FDA, etc.)
  • File customs entries and arrange for payment of duties
  • Provide accurate duty rate quotes and guidance to clients
  • Prepare appeal documentation for duty charges as required
  • Coordinate storage and transportation of imported goods from port to final destination
  • Classify goods according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and ensure all duties, taxes, and fees are paid
  • Maintain both digital and physical records as required by U.S. Customs

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST (New York)

Salary Range

  • $100,000–$120,000 base salary (commensurate with experience and education)

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • U.S. Customs Broker License (required)
  • Strong experience in Entry Writing and U.S. Customs procedures
  • Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule, CROSS, and U.S. Customs Regulations
  • Experience managing a team of Entry Writers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
