Licensed Journeyman Electrician

Job Summary:

The Licensed Journeyman Electrician evaluates, assembles, and maintains electrical systems in equipment which are predominantly portable. The Journeyman Electrician will also perform installation and restoration work on our clients' electrical frameworks.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervises Electricians apprentices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assembles, evaluates, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
• Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
• Constructs and fabricates parts, using hand tools and specifications.
• Reads and interprets electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
• Advises management on continued use of unsuitable equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
• Orders of electrical supplies and equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment.
• Able to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiar with code requirements and company safety regulations.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-year electrical, technical, or related degree.
• At least 2 years’ experience as an electrical technician.
• Vocational/technical school training and completion of an electrical apprenticeship required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, or sitting.
• Must have excellent color vision.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
• Valid driver’s license.
