Essential Job Functions:

·    Demonstrates concentrated effort, self-direction, and sound practical nurse judgment in planning and providing nursing care and assistance for all patients.

·    Performs venipuncture and processing of specimens after specific training.

·    Initiates measurement of and documents patient data including vital signs, pain, weight and clinical reminders.

·    Provides safe administration of medications. 

·    Monitors and implements infection control measures.

·    Initiates protective and safety measures including recognition of patients exhibiting signs of confusion, sedation, and/or behaviors which are potentially dangerous to self and others.

·    Exhibits knowledge and sound judgment in varying the sequence and order of performing treatments and procedures as indicated by the patient condition, nursing care plan and/or physician orders.

·    Exhibits willingness to accept additional responsibility with learning and implementing advances in nursing practice.

·    Charts in the patient's medical record observations of patient's physical and emotional status as well as responses to procedures performed and treatment rendered.

·    Serves as a role model for other staff and demonstrates constructive problem solving skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Graduate of an accredited school of licensed practical nursing

Experience:

One of year of experience working as an LPN

Licenses/Certifications:

·       Current licensure by the West Virginia State Board of Licensed Practical Nursing

·       BLS    

Abilities Required:

·                     Must be able to work effectively in a team environment

·                     Ability to treat patients of all ages including geriatrics

Working Conditions:

Environment Work Conditions:

Normal working condition with adequate lighting and ventilation

Ability to stand or walk 90% of the day.

Ability to bend and stoop frequently.

Ability to do frequent lifting and turning of patients, singularly and with other staff members and equipment

Infectious Material Exposure:

·                     Routine exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues
