Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (3x per week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with possibility to extend)
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
Weekly Gross Pay: $1,442.00

Job Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time contract assignment in a correctional facility in Estancia, NM. This role involves delivering basic nursing care, supporting physician exams and medication administration, and maintaining safety and compliance in a secure setting. Candidates must be comfortable in correctional environments and meet facility clearance requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and operate pill call per facility protocols
• Assist physicians during examinations and sick call
• Perform technical/clinical procedures within LPN licensure scope
• Document nursing activities in patient medical files accurately and timely
• Control and maintain inventory of medications and medical supplies
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic emergency care
• Observe inmate behavior and report medical or behavioral concerns
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of medical work areas
• Support audits, safety checks, and regulatory compliance
• Escort inmates/residents for medical care and assist with incident response
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and external parties in a professional manner

Requirements:

• Graduate from an approved LPN program
• Active, unrestricted LPN license in New Mexico
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid Social Security card for facility clearance
• Must reside 70+ miles away from the facility
• Must be able to start within 2 weeks
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid drivers license required
• Must have open availability, including weekends and holidays
• No RTO (Requested Time Off) allowed during assignment
  
  

Preferred:

• Experience in correctional or institutional healthcare settings
• Familiarity with emergency procedures, chart review, and controlled substances compliance
• Active AHA BLS certification
