Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a
Licensed Practical Nurse to work at a correctional facility in
Black Mountain, North Carolina. This is a
registry position with our company.
Pay Rate: $45 / hour
Shifts Available: Minimum Qualifications:- At least one year (12 months) of previous working experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must have up to date credentials in the state of North Carolina
- A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Familiarity with medical terminology
Job Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. Perform routine patient assessments and document findings accurately.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and maintain proper documentation of medication administration.
- Regularly monitor and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, and respiration rate.
- Assist with wound care, dressings, and rehabilitation procedures.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information, progress, and assessments using electronic medical records (EMR) or other designated systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, registered nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about healthcare procedures, medications, and post-treatment care instructions to promote effective self-management and recovery.
- Follow established infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe disposal of medical waste.
- Act swiftly and effectively during emergencies, implementing appropriate nursing intervention and alerting the appropriate personnel as necessary.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to best practices, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintains compliance and complies with annual requirements
- Successfully completes required employment-related documentation, testing, and screenings in a timely manner
