Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

 Overview:
WiredPeople is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Hours of operation are 24 hours, 7 days a week and overnight, holiday, and weekend shifts will be needed. The ideal candidate would be required to work 3 twelve hour shifts one week and 4 twelve hour shifts the next week. This position is full-time and onsite within an individual's home in Slater, MO. 

Essential Functions:

• Provide direct care to 3 clients, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as feeding, bathing, bed making, shaving, and dressing

• Assist with monitoring and recording:

  • Vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, blood pressure)

  • Height and weight

  • Fluid intake and output

• Observe and report on clients’ conditions to appropriate personnel

• Provide daily and as-needed tracheostomy care to one resident, including:

  • Changing inner cannula

  • Changing trach straps

  • Suctioning (trach opening, oral, and deep suction)

• Manage humidification needs:

  • Apply HME (Heat Moisture Exchanger) before showers or outings

• Assist with g-tube and suprapubic catheter care

• Administer nebulizer treatments

• Perform blood sugar checks and administer insulin if required based on glucose levels

• May be responsible for administering medications to all individuals in the home

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Missouri LPN license (required)

• Minimum 18 years of age

• High school diploma or GED (required); completion of accredited practical nursing program

• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred

• Ability to perform medication administration, wound care, and routine clinical procedures in compliance with state regulations

• Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond effectively in emergency or behavioral situations

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to supervise and collaborate with CNAs and other support staff

• Must pass background check, drug screening, and other state-required screenings
