Primary Responsibilities: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides clinical and administrative support to physicians and healthcare providers in a medical office setting. This role is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring smooth daily clinic operations in accordance with established medical protocols, state regulations, and organizational policies.
Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments
Assist physicians and providers during exams and minor procedures
Administer medications and injections as ordered and permitted
Perform routine clinical tasks such as wound care, specimen collection, and EKGs
Provide patient education regarding medications, follow-up care, and treatment instructions
Communicate effectively with providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams to ensure continuity of care
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times
Accurately document patient care and clinical activities in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Assist with scheduling, referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments as needed
Maintain exam rooms, medical equipment, and supplies in a clean, organized, and stocked condition
Support clinic workflows to ensure timely patient throughput and efficient operations
Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and clinical protocols
Comply with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing training as required
Job Experience
Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Louisiana
CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
3+ years experience in a physician’s office, clinic, or outpatient setting
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Behavioral Skills
