Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Night Shift

The Lutheran Home is seeking a dedicated full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 12-hour night shift. This position offers a predictable two-week schedule and the opportunity to provide exceptional care across our healthcare community. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Providing skilled professional nursing care as prescribed by the physician, in compliance with State Board of Nursing regulations and Lutheran Home policies.
• Obtaining and relaying necessary information from the off-going nurse for resident care follow-up.
• Verify narcotic/controlled medication counts.
• Gives daily report/instruction and assigning tasks for nursing assistants. 
• Monitor dining rooms during mealtimes to ensure proper diet and assistance for residents.
• Conducting comprehensive assessments of residents and documenting care, medications, and treatments.
• Performing and documenting admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
• Observing residents for changes in condition and reporting to physicians, families and nursing staff.
• Obtaining and updating physician orders as necessary.
• Providing education to residents and families on medical issues, including disease process, medications, and safety.
• Responding quickly to emergencies, initiating life-saving measures when needed.
• Addressing resident, family, or physician concerns, and reporting issues to the Unit Manager or Shift Supervisor.

• Night shift: 6:45 pm to 7:15 am

• Current unrestricted LPN license in the State of Missouri (or eligibility for licensure)
• CPR certification
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred
