Land Development Surveying
Location: High Point, NC Department: Surveying Reports To: Sr. Project Manager / Survey Director FLSA Status: Exempt

About the Role
FEI is seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor to serve as a Survey Project Manager supporting land development projects. This role combines technical oversight, project management, and leadership of survey teams while maintaining strong client and regulatory relationships.
This is a licensed professional role with responsibility for survey quality, field coordination, project performance, and client delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee land development surveying projects from field data through final deliverables
Analyze field data and research to prepare:
Boundary surveys
ALTA/NSPS and loan surveys
Plot plans, as-builts, and final plats
Interpret engineering drawings and coordinate survey points and grading for field staking
Prepare complete survey packages, maps, and files for survey crews
Serve as the technical resource for survey crews and office staff
Schedule and manage multiple survey crews to maximize utilization and efficiency
Ensure accountability for survey equipment, vehicles, and maintenance
Coordinate effectively with engineers, regulators, and other technical staff
Identify project opportunities and support business development efforts
Assist with project scoping, budgets, schedules, billing, and time tracking
Attend client, municipal, and agency meetings as required
Promote ethics, safety, teamwork, and FEI corporate goals
Required Qualifications
Active North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or Surveyor Intern (SI) certification
Minimum of 3 years of land development surveying experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Carlson in a surveying environment
Experience with Topcon and/or Leica survey equipment and data collectors
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field
Experience with Ajera or similar project/financial management software
Prior experience managing multiple crews or office survey staff
Work Environment & Schedule
Office-based position
Mon–Thu: 7:30am–5:30pm | Fri: 7:30am–11:30am
