The Licensed Psychiatrist provides ongoing psychiatric care to Muir Wood adolescent clients with mental, emotional or substance abuse problems. This role will provide routine and emergency assessments, diagnostic clarification, treatment recommendations, coordination of care before and during admission and post-discharge. They will also provide communication to parents/guardians’, and clients’ education on a weekly basis.
Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee Psychiatric care of Muir Wood clients.
Serve as liaison with staff Director of Nursing, Clinical Director, and other treatment team members.
Support RNs and nursing department for Muir Wood's treatment programs.
Provide training for floor staff on medication administration.
Monitor medication errors and document accordingly.
Assess and screen clients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations, and psychological testing.
Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as needed.
Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, therapists, nurses, etc. to assess and adjust treatment plans.
Coordinate and communicate with case managers and other stakeholders about treatment and care.
Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
Responsible for preventing client abuse by adhering to all policies and procedures, attending periodic training, reporting suspicious and inappropriate behavior, and following mandatory abuse reporting requirements.
Obtain patient data and vital signs and reports findings to the Nurse Manager and/or Medical Director.
Monitor chronic health conditions, respiratory distress and seizures.
Screen clients for medical/dental exams and schedule appropriate medical appointments including dental, vision, & clinical, providing medical information on a need to know basis.
Attend staff meetings as required.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor, etc.
Qualifications:
Current and valid board certification in psychiatry
Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency
Licensed to practice medicine in state of practice
Compensation: $250.00 - $330.00/hour with flexibility based on education and experience
This is a 1099 Position.
