Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, located in Bakersfield, California, is an acute psychiatric and behavioral 90 bed facility situated on 8.8 acres.

We offer inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents and adults needing mental/behavioral health, chemical dependency; and co-occurring disorders treatment through our medically supervised detoxification.

Though we do need to meet some minimum requirements for the position such as a High School Diploma, a Doctoral Degree in Psychology, and a current California License as a Psychologist, we're really looking for people who bring their HEART to work.

If you have previous experience in a mental healthcare hospital environment where your attention was focused on human behavior, psychiatry, psychology, or other mental healthcare situations, your application to this position will be moved to the shortlist of candidates.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will serve as the primary supervisor and training professional, ensuring sound clinical practice and research. Develop and maintain a comprehensive training program for Master’s and Doctoral level interns and practicum students. This role will provide training in, and review of, clinical practice and documentation to assess profession-wide competencies.

Direct all clinical training components (including practicum and internship rotations), accreditations, and program review. Develop and maintain a reliable tracking system for outcome measures. Act as a liaison between staff, students, and various academic program administrators. Conduct internship/practicum evaluations. Perform psychological testing and evaluations as needed. Consult and collaborate on the development of new initiatives and projects. Attend various staff and treatment team meetings, providing valuable clinical input.
