Lorenz is on a mission to heal the world one relationship at a time– To be the best clinic in Minnesota, not the biggest. We’ve fast become a regional leader in clinical services and training, our novel approach to clinician development often emulated by other practices. About the Role

This position entails the provision of outpatient evaluation and treatment—either testing or psychotherapy, depending on provider interest and competence.  Lorenz maintains a relatively high psychologist ratio, strong referral base, and a variety of integrated mental health services including in-house psychological testing, intensive groups, and psychotherapy.  The clinic selects interventionists who are relationally-focused and socially-committed.  The clinic uses an industry-leading EHR that allows for seamless interoperability with other health systems, enabling a high level of collaboration between systems of care. There is no call with this position.

This position includes completing all phases of the psychological testing process from the Initial Testing consultation, completing prior authorization for testing, administration, scoring , and interpretation of psychological testing, writing a psychological testing report that includes recommendations related to the referral concern and related test results, and conducting the follow up session in which testing results are reviewed. Other duties may include providing intermittent administrative supervision, clinical supervision, program development, and didactics as needed and assigned within the clinic’s training program.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• The provision of psychological services including conducting diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, psychotherapy, psychological testing, and discharge planning for patients of the clinic with an eye towards clinical utility
• Conducting intermittent didactic trainings within the clinic’s training program as assigned
• Carrying patient caseload as assigned, often 4 evaluations per week
• The provision of clinical and administrative supervision
• Assisting the Training Director in coordinating, organizing, and supervising trainees
• Reviewing supervisees’ documentation and taking responsibility for any corresponding billing
• Ensuring such documentation is consistent with managed care contracts and the professional standard
• Attending and participating in monthly case consultation, Grand Rounds, business meetings, and other meetings as required
• Compliance with clinic documentation standards
• Compliance with licensing board rules and APA Code of Ethics

Lorenz does not conduct ordered or forensic testing, eating disorder evaluations, psychosexual evaluations, parenting assessments, or fitness for duty evaluations.

Psychologists at Lorenz function in applied roles, delivering assessment and intervention to clients of all types. Clinicians are free to function within their own areas of competence, specialty, or expertise. Our clinics are embedded on Main Street in communities with traditionally stark access disparities. Our client census is 43% Medicaid, and we have a sliding fee schedule that goes to zero. Our no-show rate is under 10%. We maintain a rich consultation and continued professional development schedule, as they are key to our committee-run, evidence-based Wellness Roadmap. 95% of our clinicians say they would recommend our practice to their colleagues, the chief benefit cited is the quality of the people. Key job duties include but are not limited to providing psychological services including conducting diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and discharge planning for patients of the clinic. This job is posted in St. Paul because some of the duties maybe be provided from there on a hybrid basis at the clinic's option. In-person work is required at one of Lorenz’s suburban locations.

Requirements

Job Requirements

The most successful candidates will evidence a track record of service as an interventionist, not just an assessor, with a high degree of professional activity within the field.  The position requirements include but are not limited to: 

• A doctoral degree in psychology from an APA accredited academic program
• Full, unrestricted licensure as a psychologist in Minnesota
• Competence supervising psychology trainees in conducting assessments (preferred)
• At least 2 years providing clinical supervision (preferred)
• Formal training in child or family therapy (preferred)

As an active training clinic, most clinicians at Lorenz earn about 100 hours per year of board-approved continuing education just from showing up to work. The clinic hosts an annual conference, monthly grand rounds, and four hours per month of case consultation with a specialist.

Compensation

The compensation hiring range for this role is $110,000 - $140,000 per year, which is dependent on candidates' qualifications, program fit, chosen caseload, and competencies. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt, benefits-eligible, W2 role.
