Licensed Surveyor D

GovFirst is seeking to hire multiple Licensed Surveyors (D) to support land surveying and geospatial data analysis activities in various locations across Virginia, including Bristol, Culpeper, Fredericksburg, Hampton Roads, Lynchburg, Newport News, Norfolk, Richmond, Salem, Staunton, Suffolk, and Surry, within the Transportation Operations Division. These surveyors will be responsible for supervising land surveying activities, processing LIDAR data, and ensuring geospatial deliverables meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise all land surveying activities, both field and office operations.
  

• Conduct surveys for boundary determinations, topography, contours, and locations of physical improvements.
  

• Plan land and subdivision layouts based on survey results.
  

• Evaluate and process LIDAR point cloud data from airborne, terrestrial, and mobile collection platforms.
  

• Make boundary decisions using existing plats and deeds of record.
  

• Perform quality assurance on geospatial products to ensure data meets established standards.
  

• Utilize modern PCs, survey equipment, and geospatial techniques to generate deliverables.
  

Requirements

• Progressive level of experience in land surveying, aligning with years of practice in the discipline.
  

• Strong knowledge of surveying principles, geospatial analysis, and LIDAR data processing.
  

• Experience in both field and office surveying operations.
  

• Proficiency with geospatial software and modern survey equipment.
  

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure data quality and accuracy.
