Veterinary Surgical Centers is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to our team at our new Gaithersburg location. At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. Our collaborative environment means you’ll practice the highest quality of patient care as well as continuously learning. For the past 20 plus years VSC has been the DMVs leader is surgery and now at our first Maryland location in Gaithersburg, has specialty too. As a part of our team, you'll work with the latest technology, while gaining access to our state-of-the-art training facilities. In addition to Surgery, Specialists at VSC has both Neurology and Internal Medicine, any applicant with prior specialty experience will be strongly considered.

Certified Veterinary Technician

$22.00 - $38.00 an hour, depending on experience and certification
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Assisting our team of board-certified specialists in care and surgical procedures
- Performing all laboratory in-hospital procedures and to prepare specimens for outside laboratories
- Taking patient histories, monitoring vitals, and checking weights on patients
- Providing nursing care for hospitalized patients overnight
- Cleaning, stocking, transferring and discharging patients
- Delivering strong and professional customer service to clients, and more!

REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of veterinary experience required
- Experience in specialty veterinary medicine and/or small animal nursing care will be preferred
- 2-year Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited U.S. Veterinary Technician college and current Maryland State licensure is required
- VTS (Anesthesia or Surgery) members are HIGHLY encouraged to apply
- Positive and energetic individual
- Work as a team player in group settings as well as be able to work individually
- Demonstrate strong communication and fast problem-solving skills in a stressful situation
- Be comfortable with multi-parameter monitoring equipment, inhalant, and injectable anesthesia agents
- Have a passion for improving quality of life for animals
- Excel at multitasking
- Be dependable, trustworthy with strong work ethic and a willingness to continue learning!
