This is a leadership role with purpose. You'll direct a thriving veterinary nursing program, mentor a dedicated faculty team, and watch your students grow from beginners into skilled, licensed veterinary professionals. If you're passionate about the field and ready to leave a lasting impact beyond the clinic, we'd love to meet you.

To make your transition as smooth as possible, we're offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus payable after your first 90 days, plus relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Curriculum

  • Direct all educational activities of the Veterinary Nursing Program; develop and maintain a functional curriculum aligned with AVMA standards.

  • Evaluate course content, review new texts, and collaborate with administration on program design and implementation.

  • Coordinate educational workshops and in-services for didactic and clinical faculty.

  • Maintain all AVMA records, prepare annual reports, and lead self-study reports for accreditation.

  • Plan and conduct department staff meetings and semiannual Advisory Board meetings.

  • Monitor department expenditures and maintain budget compliance; order supplies and maintain equipment as needed.

Student Success & Instruction

  • Monitor student success rates and implement plans to reduce withdrawals; maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught.

  • Evaluate student performance and make necessary provisions to meet individual learning needs.

  • Maintain student grades per established policies; prepare final grades at the end of each sequence.

  • Perform functions of a Veterinary Nursing instructor; monitor lab competencies and confirm skill levels on standardized checklists.

Faculty & Clinical Site Management

  • Supervise veterinary nursing staff and faculty; evaluate performance and prepare teaching assignments.

  • Establish and implement veterinary nursing department goals.

  • Visit clinical sites regularly to evaluate student clinical performance and progress; coordinate with site supervisors to ensure effective clinical education.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

  • Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in good standing in the state of Texas.

  • Graduate of an AVMA CVTEA-accredited Veterinary Technician program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA.

  • Must pass the VTNE and Texas Licensed Technician Veterinary Examination (LVTE) as required by the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience in the veterinary field and/or 3 years of teaching experience in the veterinary field.

  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other computer applications.
