Licensed Vocational Nurse (New Pay Range)

Description

The Licensed Vocational Nurse provides nursing support and structure within the Care Team. The Licensed Vocational Nurse performs nursing functions within their scope and functions as a part of the team effectively, delegates tasks to staff, and is able to identify areas for improvement and provide solutions.

Primary Duties:

• Anticipates the need of the entire medical team, able to delegate tasks to Medical Assistant’s that are within their scope and prioritize daily tasks.
• Collaborates with Lead LVN in ensuring appropriate supplies, logs and team specific requirements are successfully completed.
• Under the direction of the medical provider and/or the medication protocol, may renew routine medication refills that are exact and not considered a new prescription or medication change. May call in medication change to pharmacy that has been changed by the provider.
• Documents treatments, infusions, patient symptoms, care and response within scope accurately and timely in patients Electronic Health Record.
• Demonstrates and maintains knowledge of: Vaccines guidelines for children and adults within the CDC Immunization Schedule; use, administration and effects of narcotics and in-office medications and their side effects; communicable diseases and infection control practices and procedures.
• Provides patient education as appropriate under the direction of the medical provider and age specific.
• Travels to other site locations
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Monday through Friday

8:00 AM until 5:00 PM

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid State of California Certificate of Registration as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) (Required)
• Current BLS or CPR Certification (Required)
• Have and maintain a valid California Driver’s License. Must carry liability/bodily injury on his/her automobile(s) used for work (Required)
• Satisfactory completion of a prescribed course of instruction in intravenous therapy, approved by California State Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners. (Required)
• Previous experience working as an LVN, in an outpatient setting. (Preferred)
