Job Description - Licensing Compliance Associate

We are a boutique surety broker specializing in serving large publicly and privately held companies. We are the largest independent surety-only broker in the world and are committed to providing bespoke surety solutions. We’re seeking a detail-oriented Licensing & Compliance Associate to support producer licensing, regulatory compliance, and continuing education tracking. This role plays a key part in ensuring our agency remains compliant across multiple states while supporting internal teams and producers.



Key Responsibilities


Includes but may not be limited to:



  • Process and manage producer and business entity license applications, renewals, and terminations under the guidance of the Licensing Manager.

  • Maintain accurate licensing records, including NPN status, NPI updates, attestations, and jurisdictional compliance deadlines.

  • Monitor the licensing inbox daily for regulatory correspondence and take appropriate action on renewals, expirations, updates, and new requirements.

  • Ensure timely updates across all applicable states when producer or business information changes.

  • Maintain organized digital and physical licensing, CE, and compliance files.

  • Track license and CE deadlines, prepare documentation for audits, and assist with compliance reporting.

  • Communicate with regulatory agencies to resolve routine inquiries and escalate complex issues when needed.

  • Manage surety bond attachments, including coordination with surety partners, internal notifications, and monthly spreadsheet audits.

  • Maintain Producer Database Compliance (PDB) reports by monitoring public records and resolving or escalating discrepancies.

  • Support onboarding of newly licensed employees and coordinate training and continuing education (CE) opportunities.

  • Proctor pre-licensing and CE courses and manage CE certificates, tracking, and monthly audits.

  • Provide administrative and project support to the Licensing Manager and compliance team.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Working knowledge of producer licensing (Property & Casualty preferred) and surety bond processes.

  • Familiarity with DOI requirements and electronic licensing platforms such as NIPR, SBS, and Sircon.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain compliant records.

  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.



Education and Experience



  • High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, or a related field preferred.

  • 1–3 years of experience in insurance licensing, agency operations, or surety-related roles preferred.

  • Active notary certification is a plus.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $60,000 and $70,000 per year. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The base salary range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. Final offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position will also include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
