Lifeguard

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Program Supervisor

PAY RATE: $18-$20/hour 

HOURS: Mondays from 7:00-8:30pm

JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for a dedicated and reliable lifeguard to help ensure the safety of participants and staff in WSSRA's aquatics programs. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring swimmers, enforcing safety rules, and responding effectively to emergencies as they arise. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Current Lifeguard Certification (American Red Cross or equivalent).

2. CPR and First Aid certification.

3. Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.

4. Ability to work independently while effectively following supervisory direction.

5. Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or related fields is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

1. Monitor pool areas to prevent accidents and respond promptly to emergencies.

2. Enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure the safety of staff and participants. 

3. Communicate effectively with participants and staff to address concerns. 

4. Attend seasonal staff trainings sessions. 

5. Clear the deck and pool of all equipment and potential hazards before and after each program.

6. Stay on deck during the transportation of participants to and from the locker room.

7. Respond to emergency situations in accordance with WSSRA’s policy and procedures.
