La Gorce Country Club is the premier private club in Miami Beach Florida. We are seeking for enthusiastic and energetic Lifeguards to join our team. Lifeguards must deliver the highest level of member service, management, and consistency to the club environment with a focus on safety and programming.

Rate: Starting at $18 per hour

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under direct supervision of the Fitness Performance Director.

*Lifeguard Proficiency

*Ensures the safety of pool patrons and assists with aquatic programs and pool operations

*Safeguards and regulates the conduct of pool patrons

*Enforces pool policies, rules, and regulations

*Rescues patrons and performs appropriate follow-up procedures, including the proper use of equipment in the performance of first aid

*Tests water quality in the pool and maintains appropriate records

*May maintain proper chemical balances in both pool and hot tub as directed making adjustments to these balances as directed

*May handle mechanical/pump room or chemical problems as necessary

*Responsible for the proper organizational maintenance and sanitary upkeep of the pool, pool area, and locker rooms, as well as the atmosphere, look, and feel of the area.

*Maintains properly updated safety requirements

*Conducts patron swimming test to assess the ability to swim independently and unattended

*If teaching lessons and classes execute fitness program design in a safe and effective way

*Be responsible for the security of self and others

*Office organizational, management, and computer skills

*Must follow instructions precisely

*Certifications (Lifeguard, CPO, AFO Swim Lessons)

* CPR/First Aid certified for the Professional Rescuer.

*WSI lifeguard training or equivalent

*Continuing education to keep certifications and knowledge current

POOLS & EQUIPMENT

Personal computer, including word processing software; calculator; copy and fax machine; phone; a mobile or portable radio; automobile; various sports equipment used in fitness programs and swimming pools.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, pool mechanical systems. The employee constantly is exposed to wet and dry conditions, fumes, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud when in the facility.
