Lifeguards

Transit Valley Country Club, located in the heart of East Amherst, NY, is looking for part-time and full-time seasonal lifeguards. Transit Valley is a family-centric club combining for over 600 members, spouses, and children.

Job Function:

• Enforce pool safety rules including performance of EAP’s when necessary
• Provide a hospitable, friendly, and fun environment for members, family, and their guests
• Apply first-aid when required
• Regulate pool chlorine and pH systems and proper us of all pool equipment
• Instruct Swim lessons to children of all ages
• Instruct competitive swimmer/diver training to children of all ages
• Work with a friendly manner with all co-employees and members of the club
• Maintain up to date certifications

Must be able to:

• Stand hot and cold weather conditions
• Maintain focus and alertness for extended periods of time
• Communicate verbally across long distances and with EMS personnel
• Contribute to a clean and organized work environment
• Perform all rescue and survival skills required of a lifeguard without problem or hesitation.

• Up-to-date certifications for Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, and AED

Qualifications:

• Experience lifeguarding or swimming experience desirable
• Swim lessons, teaching experience, and competitive swim/diving a plus
