The Gulf Coast Village Campus is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare affiliate of the Volunteers of America parent organization.

Schedule - Monday thru Friday, 8pm to 5pm, 40 hours per week, occasional weekends

POSITON SUMMARY 

The Lifestyles Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive lifestyle program that enhances residents’ overall health, well-being, engagement, and personal growth. This role plans and coordinates a variety of programs and events that promote physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual enrichment while fostering a vibrant, welcoming community environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;


• One to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Additional educational requirements for providing services in a Licensed Nursing Home are a bachelor’s degree in Sociology or Recreational Therapy, or an Activity Director Certification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

• Plan, schedule, and lead lifestyle programs and activities that support residents’ physical, intellectual, social emotional, and spiritual well-being.


• Coordinate the majority of resident planned functions and outings, managing all aspects of events from planning and setup through execution and breakdown.


• Collaborate with Dining Services, Sales & Marketing, & Administration to plan and coordinate resident holiday celebrations and special events.


• Assist with planning, coordinating, and maintaining holiday and seasonal decorations throughout the community.


• Prepares and organizes a calendar of events for departments. Posts and distributes the calendar for the residents Prepare, organize, and maintain a monthly calendar of events; distribute and post calendars for residents and relevant departments.


• Distributes community newsletter. Meets with new residents to introduce the program.


• Provides ongoing communication with residents and, as necessary, family members.


• Recruit, organize, and supervise volunteers supporting Independent Living programs.
