Job Description - Lift Maintenance Manager

Job Summary: The Manager oversees daily operation of Lift Maintenance department. Supervises and directs activities of Lift Maintenance team.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Salaried:

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base salary range: $84,147 - $117,806 per year

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following: other duties may be assigned:

  • Ensure customers are treated courteously, safely and efficiently.
  • Responsible for overall direction, coordination and evaluation of Lift Maintenance department.
  • Carries out supervisory duties in accordance with Palisades Tahoe policies and applicable laws. 
  • Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Performs or assists direct employees in performing duties as well as providing training or coaching as required.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining timecards, budgets, maintenance and staff schedules. Responds to emails and attend related meetings as needed. Manages project and maintenance deadlines.
  • Determines work priorities, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for safety, exactness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Studies and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of the Lift Maintenance department.
  • Responds to customer and management complaints while providing explanations or solutions.

Competencies and Job Requirements:

  • Ability to perform and understand all Lift Maintenance duties.
  • Good leadership, customer service, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical journals, spread sheets, ANSI B77 code,  and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 75% or more of a normal 10 hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50lbs. Must be capable of occasionally squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and balancing, able to climb ladders and shovel snow. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will frequently be exposed to extreme cold and heat, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate to loud. Proper use of PPE is required.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Lift Maintenance or related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supervisory position
