Job Summary

To apply adhesives and epoxy to circuit boards, ensuring optional performance and reliability of electronic assemblies. 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Prepare and apply various adhesives and epoxy compounds to circuit boards according to engineering specifications and industry standards.
  • Utilize precision tools and equipment for accurate application, including syringes, dispensers, and automated systems.
  • Ensure even and consistent application to avoid defect or irregularities. 
  • Clean and prepare circuit board surfaces to ensure proper adhesion, including removing contaminants and applying primers as needed.
  • Inspect and verify that surfaces are free from just, oils, and other impurities. 
  • Monitor curing and bonding processes to ensure proper setting and performance of adhesives and epoxy.
  • Adjust application techniques and parameters based on real-time observations and feedback.
  • Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of completed circuit boards to verify adhesion quality and integrity.
  • Maintain daily times worked on specific jobs by scanning in/out of computer and/or keeping daily timesheets when requested. Performs other record keeping as required by department.
  • Responsible for compliance to Virtex’s Quality Management System and other regulatory and statutory requirements as required by the customer.
  • Accountable for accepting responsibility for continuous on the job training by actively participating in training put on by designated Virtex employees and/or any outside service.
  • Actively participates in quality efforts and support the Virtex Quality Policy through accountable action.
  • Contributes to maintaining a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures, reporting any safety concerns, and participate in any scheduled stretch breaks.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or 3-6 months related work experience.
  • Previous experience in applying adhesives and epoxy in a manufacturing or electronic environment is preferred.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Due to ITAR Restrictions, US Citizenship or green card is required. 
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.    
  • Ability to lift, push and pull 10 to 45 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Must have good eyesight, as well as the ability to adjust focus and differentiate between colors.
  • Flexibility to work extra hours when needed, including weekends.
