The Line Service Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely turnaround of aircraft at the ramp operations level. Reporting directly to the Ramp Operations Manager, this position oversees daily line service activities, supervises a team of ramp agents, and ensures strict compliance with FAA, airline, and regulatory standards. The Line Service Supervisor is responsible for coordinating ground handling operations including aircraft marshaling, fueling, baggage handling, cargo loading, and pre\-flight inspections. This role demands strong leadership, situational awareness, and the ability to manage high\-pressure environments with precision and professionalism. By maintaining operational excellence and safety compliance, the Line Service Supervisor directly contributes to on\-time departures, passenger safety, and overall airline efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of line service personnel during aircraft turnaround operations.
Ensure compliance with FAA, ICAO, and airline safety and operational regulations at all times.
Conduct pre\-flight and post\-flight inspections of aircraft, verifying proper ground handling and equipment status.
Direct aircraft marshaling, ground power unit (GPU) connection, and chocking procedures with precision.
Oversee fueling operations, including monitoring fuel levels, conducting safety checks, and coordinating with fueling teams.
Manage baggage and cargo loading/unloading, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure stowage.
Communicate effectively with flight crews, ground control, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination.
Maintain accurate logs and documentation for all ground handling activities and incidents.
Respond promptly to emergencies or operational disruptions, implementing corrective actions and reporting outcomes.
Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to line service team members.
Enforce safety protocols, conduct safety briefings, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; aviation\-related certification or associate degree preferred.
1â3 years of progressive experience in line service or ramp operations within the aviation industry.
Valid Line Service Supervisor certification or equivalent training from a recognized aviation authority.
Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, airport operating procedures, and aircraft ground handling standards.
Proven leadership and team supervision experience in a fast\-paced, high\-volume environment.
Excellent communication, problem\-solving, and decision\-making skills under pressure.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical stamina to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Proficient in using ground support equipment (GSE), including baggage loaders, tow tractors, and GPU units.
Strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and commitment to safety excellence.
