Job Description - Litigation Associate Attorney

Pay: $120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year

Location

This is a full-time, primarily on-site opportunity in Austin, Texas. Our team values working together in person while offering flexibility to work remotely from time to time when needed. Relocation costs are available for qualified candidates moving to the Austin area.

Note

Candidates must be actively licensed to practice law in Texas and have 2+ years of directly relevant insurance litigation, business litigation, commercial litigation, or closely related civil litigation experience. This is a litigation position, not a dedicated appellate role, and is best suited for an attorney who wants to actively litigate cases.

Job Description

  • Manage litigation matters and take increasing ownership of your own case docket.
  • Handle cases from initial assessment through discovery, motion practice, mediation, settlement, and trial.
  • Draft pleadings, briefs, dispositive motions, discovery, and other substantive litigation documents.
  • Take and defend depositions and develop practical courtroom advocacy experience.
  • Develop case strategy, analyze insurance and business disputes, and communicate directly with clients.
  • Collaborate closely with experienced litigators on complex matters while independently managing assignments and deadlines.
  • Participate in administrative proceedings, alternative dispute resolution, and occasional appellate related work arising from litigation matters.

Qualifications

  • Active Texas Bar license in good standing.
  • 2+ years of insurance litigation, business litigation, commercial litigation, or closely related civil litigation experience.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage deadlines, cases, and competing priorities.
  • Self-motivated attorney who wants hands-on deposition and courtroom experience.
  • Strong academic credentials preferred.
