Litigation Legal Assistant - Hiring Immediately

Our client, a litigation insurance defense law firm in Troy, MI is seeking a Legal Assistant.  The Legal Assistant will provide support to Attorney’s and Paralegals.  The Legal Assistant will be the link between attorney’s, clients, courts and the general public.

The annual salary range is between $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 depending on skills and experience. The work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After a training period, this position has the opportunity to work into a hybrid schedule.

This is a direct hire opportunity.

Legal Assistant Job Duties:

·         Draft and review legal pleadings and other court documents (Motions, Briefs, Adjournments, Answers, Notices, Discovery, etc.) prior to attorney review and signature.

• Schedule and Notice Depositions and Independent Medical Evaluations.
• Maintain and update attorney’s calendar.
• Circuit and District court filings.

·         Takes and transcribes dictation

·         Communication with opposing counsel, courts and client’s on a daily basis.

·         Complete and send reports to clients with pertinent case status updates as needed.

·         Coordinate meetings with client and attorneys as needed.

·         Organize and keep track of numerous litigation files, maintain and update files. 

Legal Assistant Job Requirements:

·         3+ years of recent law experience in any of the area of Litigation.

·         Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook.

·         Experience with e-filing and filing directly with the courts.
