Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all stages of personal injury litigation, from pre-suit through trial and settlement
- Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery requests/responses, and subpoenas
- Coordinate and manage the discovery process, including the collection, review, and organization of medical records, accident reports, and other supporting documentation
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings
- Maintain and organize case files in accordance with firm procedures and deadlines
- Assist in deposition and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness files, and trial binders
- Coordinate with expert witnesses, medical providers, and court personnel
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance representatives
- Prepare settlement packages and support attorneys with negotiation documentation
- Track and manage statute of limitations and litigation deadlines using calendaring software
