Job Description - Live Event Media Coordinator (ADM3255)

The Live Event Media Coordinator will work for Blue Dragon Athletics in coordinating live event streaming and managing student video interns. The Live Event Media Coordinator will work closely with the Athletic Director and Coordinator of Events to record and produce content for Athletic Events.  The Coordinator will recruit, interview, schedule and supervise student interns to cover home and away athletic contests, live athletic event media productions, and other video productions as needs arise. This position is located in the athletic office of the Sports Arena and also has an office space at Building 12.



RESPONSIBILITIES


 


Essential –


 



  • Coordinate live event media productions.

  • Recruit Media Student Interns

  • Coordinate and train Media Intern students in proper use and care of camera, lights, and equipment.

  • Coordinate and train Media Intern students in proper use and care of post-production process and equipment.

  • Coordinate and schedule Media Intern students for Athletic Home and Away games, rotating students who have to travel with teams.

  • Coordinate and assist Media Intern students in creating hype videos and highlight reels for each game and prepare for distribution.

  • Expert in using live event equipment including switchers, generators, cameras, lights, and audio.

  • Pursue professional development through classes, workshops, etc.

  • Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.

  • Ensure consistency, quality and relevancy of production.

  • Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures and practices.

  • Perform other functions as assigned by Athletic Director.



QUALIFICATIONS:


 



  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, Film, or Digital Media preferred.

  • Expert video skills.

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with staff, students, faculty and other HutchCC stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to outline projects and maintain tight deadlines sometimes with quick turn-around.

  • The ability to maintain confidentially in a student-centered environment.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, high-level organizational skills, and the ability to produce reports/documentation.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, racial, socioeconomic, gender and disabilities populations.

  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry equipment, if needed; excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills; excellent organizational skills; ability and willingness to collaborate; ability to work independently; use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; light to moderate, indoor work environment.

  • Mental requirements include the ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.

  • Physical and mental qualifications must be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.

SALARY and STATUS: {Emergency Status}


 


Salary is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration.  This full-time administrative staff position, 12 months annual (261 work days per fiscal year), benefit eligible, at-will, and exempt.

HutchCC CSA Job Description Addendum:


 


Satisfy the duties of a Campus Security Authority (CSA) relating to Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (“Clery Act”) by:



  • Promptly reporting Clery Act crimes and/or allegations of Clery Act crimes to the designated HutchCC official(s) in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures;

  • Completing any HutchCC provided CSA training regarding campus safety and crime reporting issues;

  • Assisting in the issuance of timely warnings and emergency notifications in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures;

  • Serving as a resource to students, employees, and others regarding crime prevention, reporting and victim assistance; and

  • Collaborating with the Coordinator of Campus Safety, the Coordinator of Title IX & Title VI, and the Director of Human Resources, regarding campus safety and compliance issues.

  • A professional counselor, as designated by HutchCC and whose official responsibilities include providing mental health counseling to members of the HutchCC community, may be exempt from reporting Clery Act crimes and/or allegations of Clery Act crimes when functioning within the scope of the counselor’s license or certification.
