JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Living with Purpose (LWP) Lead
CLASSIFICATION CODE: EXEMPT FULL TIME
REPORTS TO: Workforce Development Program Manager
STATEMENT OF JOB:
The Living with Purpose (LWP) Lead plays a critical role in coordinating, supporting, and leading the Work Readiness and GED programs that help participants gain the skills and confidence to successfully enter or re-enter the workforce. This is a hands-on position that performs all functions of an LWP Career Coach while also overseeing program activities, supervising staff, maintaining curriculum consistency, and supporting strategic goals. The LWP Lead collaborates with internal departments and external partners to ensure high-quality participant services and successful employment outcomes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and manage curriculum that includes job search strategies, resume writing, interviewing skills, workplace communication, and professional behavior.
- Set measurable goals and outcomes aligned with the organizational mission.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts by evaluating program effectiveness and incorporating feedback.
- Help onboard new team members and provide ongoing training.
- Coordinate staff scheduling and ensure proper coverage.
- Coordinate daily operations of the Work Readiness and GED programs.
- Develop and maintain program schedules, calendars, and events.
- Ensure curriculum is being delivered effectively and consistently.
- Monitor participant enrollment, attendance, progress, and outcomes.
- Supervise and support program staff and provide administrative support.
- Conduct regular team meetings, provide training, and foster collaborative, performance-driven culture.
- Oversee the intake and assessment process to determine participant needs and appropriate services.
- Develop individual work readiness plans in coordination with staff.
- Monitor participant progress by utilizing CMMS.
- Facilitate workshops tutoring sessions, or job-readiness classes when needed.
- Coordinate job fairs, employer visits, guest speaker sessions, and mock interviews.
- Identify job placement, internship, and volunteer opportunities for participants.
- Maintain accurate program records and prepare regular program reports.
- Gather feedback from participants and staff to improve services.
- Assist with strategic planning and program evaluation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree in education, Human Services, Workforce Development, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience in career development, workforce programming, or educational services.
- One (1) year of supervisory or lead experience in a program or educational setting.
- Experience working with Native American communities preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software.
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and fingerprint clearance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position supervises LWP Career Coaches and other designated support staff.
TRAVEL:
Local travel to program sites, employer locations, and community events is required.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
- Workforce Development Certification
- Trauma-Informed Care or Motivational Interviewing Training
- Experience in adult education or GED instruction support

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, reaching above and below shoulder level. Repetitive hand use for writing, typing, and materials distribution. Occasional facilitation of workshops in classroom or virtual settings.
