We are seeking a reliable and skilled Loader Operator/Scale Clerk to join our team. This dual-role position is responsible for operating heavy machinery to load materials and managing scale operations to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing shipments. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards.
Loader Operator:
Operate onsite 966 loaders to load and unload materials.
Safely move materials from storage areas to shipping areas, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Inspect equipment before and after use, performing basic maintenance and reporting any issues.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
Assist in stockpiling materials and maintaining inventory levels as required.
Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines to minimize accidents and injuries.
Scale Clerk:
Weigh trucks, trailers, and other vehicles entering and leaving the site, ensuring accurate data entry.
Record and maintain detailed logs of material transactions, including weight, type, and destination.
Verify load tickets and ensure all information is correct before processing.
Communicate with drivers to ensure accurate load documentation and resolve any discrepancies.
Ensure proper scale operation and maintenance, reporting any issues to management.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients when needed.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience operating loaders or heavy equipment is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Ability to operate and maintain scales and other related equipment.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to heavy equipment operation.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
Ability to operate heavy machinery in varying conditions.
Work in outdoor environments and potential exposure to hazardous materials.
Prior experience in a similar position within the construction, mining, or logistics industry.
Certification or training in equipment operation (e.g., forklift, front-end loader).
Familiarity with inventory management or scale software.
