Loan Advisor (Bilingual Desired)

Idaho Housing and Finance Association is seeking a Loan Advisor who will work with borrowers to advise them on existing loans and refinances. In this position, there is no cold calling, no marketing, and no all-hours calls. In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

Origination:

• Responds to customer inquiries for information on refinance, assumption and release of liability transactions.
• Conducts interviews with prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data, determine customer financing objectives, advises customers of product / pricing policies and guidelines, and gather any additional required information.
• Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit, employment, income, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
• Negotiate terms, structure loan financing based on risk considerations for loan approval.
• Originate the loan file and work with the loan team to ensure that all pertinent documentation is complete and accurate.

Customer Service:

• Ensures exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of IHFA and agency lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrates a commitment to professional ethics and complying with all compliance policies.
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing internally and externally.

Teamwork:

• Contribute to the department and company objectives and goals.
• Perform as a team member in coordinating the work flow.

Professional Development:

• Maintain the required NMLS license through continuing Education.

May perform other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications required for this role are the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of real estate lending experience.
• Familiarity with mortgage banking regulations and responsibilities including a working knowledge of mortgages, liens and other aspects of mortgage lending.
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize.
• Competence with computers and computer systems (hardware and software) to enter, access and retrieve financial data.
• Bilingual highly desired
