Idaho Housing and Finance Association is seeking a Loan Advisor who will work with borrowers to advise them on existing loans and refinances. In this position, there is no cold calling, no marketing, and no all-hours calls. In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
Origination:
Responds to customer inquiries for information on refinance, assumption and release of liability transactions.
Conducts interviews with prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data, determine customer financing objectives, advises customers of product / pricing policies and guidelines, and gather any additional required information.
Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit, employment, income, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
Negotiate terms, structure loan financing based on risk considerations for loan approval.
Originate the loan file and work with the loan team to ensure that all pertinent documentation is complete and accurate.
Customer Service:
Ensures exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of IHFA and agency lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrates a commitment to professional ethics and complying with all compliance policies.
Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing internally and externally.
Teamwork:
Contribute to the department and company objectives and goals.
Perform as a team member in coordinating the work flow.
Professional Development:
Maintain the required NMLS license through continuing Education.
May perform other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications required for this role are the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2-5 years of real estate lending experience.
Familiarity with mortgage banking regulations and responsibilities including a working knowledge of mortgages, liens and other aspects of mortgage lending.
Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize.
Competence with computers and computer systems (hardware and software) to enter, access and retrieve financial data.
Bilingual highly desired
