Loan Counseling Assistant

Idaho Housing and Finance Association is seeking a Loan Counseling Assistant to join our Mortgage Servicing Department! The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support to clients seeking information about loan options, repayment plans, and financial management. They will work under the supervision of our loan counselors to provide guidance and assistance to clients in navigating the loan process and achieving financial stability.

In this role, you will:

• Work to meet customer needs and provide education and counseling as necessary
• Prepare and follow up with borrowers to accurately and comprehensively submit loan modifications and forbearance applications
• Review borrowers for available Home Retention Programs based on loan type
• Order property inspections and facilitate property preservation efforts as needed
• Provide assistance to Loan Counselor(s) in order to resolve delinquency through collection efforts and borrow assistance programs

Requirements

Position qualifications required are the following:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience within loan counseling or customer service industry
• 2 years’ experience accurately assessing, retrieving and preparing documentation compliant with established protocol.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience in residential real estate lending, residential loan processing, loan closing, loan servicing or a combination of education and experience in related fields which clearly demonstrates a thorough understanding of the functions listed above
• Must be a team player and work toward achieving organizational goals
• Shows interest in maintaining good work life balance
