Loan Lawyer/ Structurer

We are looking for a methodical Associate with experience in the fund finance space to join our Strategic Equities Solutions team.  This role has runway to move into a Structuring profile and grow your career in a different route. This Lawyer/ Structuring role is a strategic professional who understands risk management and how to develop transactions which meet return hurdles whilst minimizing risk through structuring.   The role requires strong relationships with control functions in particular with risk.  Excellent communication skills are required in order to negotiate internally and externally, often at a senior level.  The role requires commerciality and innovation and an in depth knowledge of how Citi thinks about risk and its policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Structuring and documenting financing facilities for PE funds including analysis of underlying assets of the fund
• Will have close relationships with Trading in addition to the control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Audit, Finance and in particular Risk Management
• Must be able to appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions whilst acting commercially
• Provide legal counsel across Equities on a full spectrum of transactional, corporate governance, and compliance matters as applicable

Qualifications:

• Experience in Loan transaction documentation ideally in respect of fund finance facilities  ( Legal qualification required )
• Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with multiple functional groups in a cohesive manner.

Education:

• Law degree and experience in a legal firm managing clients in the fund finance space
