POSITION TITLE: Loan Origination Manager

DEPARTMENT: Lending

POSITION FUNCTION

Under the general supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, oversees promotion and origination of all consumer, mortgage and member business loans.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for keeping current regarding all lending development and trends and research, review and development of new lending products and enhancements.
2. Directs and communicates all legal compliance related to loan origination activity.
3. Performs all duties associated with the origination of loans, including review and approval of loans within authority, interviews loan applicants, the processing and disbursement of loan funds.
4. Reviews consumer loan applications received from branches and the website; evaluate the information and approve or reject the loan requested within the parameters of loan authority matrix and policy.
5. Reviews loan applications received from third party partners; evaluate the information and approve or reject the loan requested within the parameters of loan authority matrix and policy.
6. Relays loan decisions to all parties in an expeditious, tactful, and professional manner.
7. Ensures that all loan or lease agreements are complete and accurate.
8. Provide financial counseling and lending information to borrowers.
9. Documents loan decision and required provisions necessary to complete the loan.
10. Responsible for the updating and maintaining of the consumer, mortgage and MBL loan policies.
11. Oversee the training of all employees who are involved in all Lending in coordination with HR and Retail Departments.
12. Recommend rate changes to the CEO and ALCO.
13. Oversees the daily pricing of fixed rate mortgages.
14. Evaluate MBL loan requests and report to the credit committee.
15. Assist and support branch personnel regarding consumer, mortgage and MBL loan products.
16. Oversees the annual review process in the MBL loan portfolio in compliance with the MBL Policy.
17. Assist with the creation of new loan products and services to ensure proper documentation, testing, implementation and processing.
18. Performs annual Fair Lending training for the staff and board of directors
19. Oversees the Credit Union’s HMDA reporting.
20. Oversees the Credit Union’s CRA efforts as CRA Officer
21. Oversees the loan origination function.
22. Oversees the supervising of all secondary market functions including, but not limited to, loan sales, pricing, packaging, etc.
23.  Oversees and performs annual performance evaluations of the department staff.
24. Provides staff with training and communication of information, on an ongoing basis on new and revised procedures and policies.
25. Responsible for responses in writing to audits performed, along with following for necessary documents required.
26. Participate in all management planning sessions as needed, direct and establish department planning parameters and ensure completion of such.
27. Participate in educational conferences, seminars and workshops to maintain knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations.
28. Responsible for determining business development opportunities and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
29. Reviews new loans with the Credit Committee as needed.
30. Create and analyze system and department reports daily, weekly, monthly, or as needed to ensure compliance with Credit Union policies as well as with state and federal regulations.
31. Establish and implement departmental and Credit Union policies and procedures and periodically review these procedures as necessary.
32. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Maintains knowledge of member services in area of responsibility.
• Assists members with information and services in their area of responsibility.
• Ensures confidentiality of member transactions.
• Performs related managerial and administrative duties as required.
• Maintains a safe and workable environment for subordinates while promoting a team effort among staff

1. Hand dexterity required to operate computer terminal and/or related equipment.
2. Eye coordination required to operate computer/teller terminal.
3. Moves around credit union between levels or floors while performing duties.
4. Drives to and attends meetings as required.
5. Bending and stretching in work area.
6. Sitting at a desk or computer workstation for periods of time.
7. Travels to Credit Union facilities/locations as required.
8. Stretches and bends in vault area.
9. Lifts books, ledgers, records, etc.
10. Walks around Credit Union location in the performance of duties.

Speaks and listens to customers and explains Credit Union services.
