The Mortgage Advisor (MA) is responsible for collecting and analyzing information regarding each customer’s income, assets, and investments or debts and determines which  loan  programs best meet each  customer's needs. Developing life-long relationships with customers is a key to success in this position.

JOB DESCRIPTION:1.Originates and reviews loan proposals. 2.Markets, services, and promotes MAG's loan programs. 3.Interviews applicants and requests specific documentation for loan applications. 4.Analyzes applicant financial status to determine ability of granting loan. 5.Evaluates, counsels, and advises customers regarding the advantages and disadvantages of various  loan   programs and quotes, negotiates, and  commits  loan terms to customers 6.Corresponds with applicants in person, on the phone, or via e-mail to resolve questions and concerns regarding the loan process in a timely manner. 7.Confers with Lending Operations, Production, and Secondary Markets teams as well as support staff as needed through the life of the loan. 8.Coordinates the closing of the loan with escrow. 9.Sets and records sales performance goals. 10.Adheres to FASTrak requirements. 11.Works with marketing to set and achieve sales and advertising goals. 12.Supervises and trains assistants and other support staff. 13.Keeps up-to-date on all required compliance training. 14.Keeps up-to-date on all various loan programs and company products available. 15.Travels to branch offices, as required. 16.Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM: The following education and work experience requirements are essential for competent job performance. 1.Education:  High School Diploma or GED. 2.Experience: Two (2) to five (5) years of practical experience as a loan originator in the mortgage industry. a.Intermediate knowledge of the real estate industry b.Excellent knowledge and understanding of the local real estate market. c.Knowledge of HMDA, RESPA, TILA, and other mortgage related laws and regulations d.General knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs and guidelines e.Familiar with various Automated Underwriting Systems. f.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills. g.Ability to provide exceptional customer service and a “raving fan” experience. h.Organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and an excellent problem-solver. i.Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office software and standard office equipment including computer, copier, fax, and telephone equipment. j.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced environment. k.Must have a strong desired to achieve and succeed. 

DESIRED: 1.Education: Bachelor's Degree in finance or related field. 2.Experience: Extensive knowledge of the mortgage banking industry.
