• Safely operate a Class A CDL flatbed truck to transport loads between job sites, customer yards, and warehouses.
• Plan routes efficiently based on delivery schedules, road restrictions, and traffic conditions.
• Drive in varied environments, including urban, rural, and highway settings, while maintaining safe driving habits.
• Follow DOT hours-of-service regulations to ensure compliance with legal driving limits.
• Load and unload materials using a Moffett forklift in tight spaces such as construction sites or congested yards.
• Position the Moffett correctly on the back of the flatbed for secure transport after use.
• Perform pre-use forklift inspections and report any mechanical issues to maintenance.
• Secure loads on flatbed trailers using standard straps and corner protectors to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Ensure that all loads are properly distributed and balanced to avoid overloading axles and comply with weight limits.
• Arrive at delivery sites on time and communicate with site managers or customers regarding unloading instructions.
• Perform site-specific deliveries where conditions may vary (e.g., unpaved surfaces, construction zones).
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing any questions or concerns professionally and courteously.
• Be flexible with delivery changes, including last-minute site adjustments or reroutes from the original delivery point.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure everything is in safe working condition.
• Identify any mechanical issues and report to dispatch or maintenance for repairs.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, trip reports, and inspection records in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Ensure bills of lading, delivery receipts, and other paperwork are completed and submitted on time.
• Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations for commercial drivers.
• Adhere to company safety policies at all times.

Requirements

• Current DOT medical card.
• Class A CDL license with a clean driving record.
• 1+ year(s) of experience operating flatbed trucks and Moffett forklifts.
• Strong understanding of load securing techniques.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations governing commercial drivers, including hours of service and vehicle inspections.
• Comfortable working in varied weather conditions and handling both urban and rural routes.
• Ability to lift and move heavy loads (up to 75 lbs.).
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatch and customers.
• Ability to adapt to route changes and shifting delivery schedules.
• Must be able to pass DOT drug screens.
