Local Finance Controller

We are looking for a qualified Local Finance Controller with hands-on experience in bookkeeping, statutory compliance, and communicating with key stakeholders. This role involves maintaining statutory and legal compliance, as well as overseeing day-to-day financial operations including accounting, statutory filings, and coordination with auditors.

Key Responsibilities:

· Bookkeeping & Accounting:

· Maintain accurate books of accounts, journals, ledgers, and trial balance in line with Indian GAAP or IND-AS and US-GAAP

· Oversee payables, receivables, expense tracking, and bank reconciliations.

· Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

· Work with external accounting firms for tax compliance (TDS, GST, Income Tax).

Controller Responsibilities:

· Own company-wide month-end close process, internal controls, and account reconciliations.

· Coordinate audit processes (statutory, tax, internal), and implement corrective actions.

· Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting in collaboration with global finance teams.

· Support payroll inputs and statutory compliance related to PF, ESI, PT, etc.

Cross-Functional & Strategic Support:

· Act as “right-hand” to VP of Finance as partner in the business on the overall company

· Assist with fundraising due diligence, compliance for ESOPs, and legal documentation.

· Act as the local point of contact for international HQ or investors for compliance and finance topics.

· Support vendor and customer onboarding with appropriate documentation and compliance checks.

Qualifications:

· Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Law; CA-Inter or MBA Finance is a plus.

· 3–8 years of experience across secretarial, accounting, and controller responsibilities.

Skills & Competencies:

· Sound understanding of corporate law, FEMA, and financial reporting standards.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask across compliance and finance.

· Proficient in Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Tally, or similar accounting platforms.

· Excellent communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally and globally.
