Job Description - Location Manager

FRONTIER COOPERATIVE is an agriculture leader in Nebraska providing grain, agronomy, feed and energy products and services to our customers. We are now hiring for a Location Manager for our Tecumseh, NE locations.  This position is being offered as full-time with benefits.



Essential duties:  



  • Works in collaboration with Regional Operations Manager and Ag Advisors to develop market plans for new customers and to retain current customers, keeps current with new agronomy products, may oversee the management of a retail store, dry or liquid fertilizer plant, and a feed and seed warehouse.

  • Maintains quality service by enforcing customer service standards, analyzing and resolving customer service complaints or problems, working with customers to evaluate and promote improved products and expanded services in trade territory area.

  • Manages and oversees the proper working order and condition of vehicles, machinery, equipment, building and grounds. Ensure all vehicles, equipment and machinery are cleaned to prolong safe and quality operation and to promote a positive image for the company.

  • Ensuring standards of health, safety, and security to customers, vendors, and employees by following all company safety standards and regulations by adhering to OSHA, EPA, state, and federal safety regulations.

  • Maintain and manage the day-to-day operations of grain elevators, grain bins or flat storage grain areas.

  • Manages all inbound and out bound shipments of grains, ensuring grain is delivered to the proper storage areas to avoid mixing of grains in storage, monitors space requirements in elevators, bins or flat storage areas.

  • Ensure that bins are ready for grain prior to filling and have been properly cleaned, swept and sprayed with insecticides, perform routine grain inspections to identify temperature changes or quality changes because of mold, insects, fungus or elevated moisture content.

  • Pulls grain cores periodically so that grain can be inspected for any signs of quality problems, performs a variety of duties in elevator to ensure highest possible economic return by blending, drying, aerating, cooling, removing spoiled grain, moving grain to other storage areas, mixing grain within the same elevator and/or bin.



Job skills and requirements:



  • This position must have knowledge, skills and abilities in operational management, business management, accounting and budgets, project management, and quality management.

  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Strong mentoring and coaching experience and the ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.

  • Ability to write routine to complex reports and correspondence, exceptional oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and able to communicate verbally or in writing instructions, directions, and assignments.

  • Perform basic math computations. Such as add, subtract, multiply, divide, proportions, percentages, and volume and prepare and interpret spreadsheets and graphs.

  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment.

  • Requires a valid operator’s license and forklift certification, prefer a CDL Class A license with HazMat and Tanker endorsements and/or can obtain these special requirements within 60 days of employment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related fields preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or agricultural experience.
