SUMMARY:

The Locker Room Cleaner plays a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the spa and springs. This position is responsible for maintaining a spotless, sanitary, and welcoming environment that supports a relaxing and rejuvenating guest experience.

Locker Room Cleaner demonstrates strong attention to detail, takes pride in creating a clean and orderly environment, and thrives as part of a team committed to exceptional guest service.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Thoroughly clean and sanitize all areas of the locker rooms, including showers, toilets, sinks, floors, and lockers throughout the day. 
2. Maintain cleanliness on the springs’ decks, including trash pickup, sweeping, and skimming the pools.
3. Regularly clean and tidy all public areas, such as lounges, waiting areas, treatment rooms, linen rooms, and prep spaces.
4. Keep locker rooms well-stocked and organized by restocking lockers with towels, robes, and other necessary items.
5. Perform routine trash collection and ensure used linens are regularly picked up and replaced with clean linens from the laundry team throughout the day.
6. Proactively monitor cleanliness and respond quickly to any messes or spills.
7. Stocks treatment rooms, locker rooms, and linen storage area with necessary linens, towels, paper goods, etc. according to established stock levels and checklists.
8. Ensure all supplies (e.g., toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion) are consistently replenished and organized. 
9. Ensures Spa Reception, lounges, locker rooms, and public areas are kept clean, trash is picked up, dirty towels are disposed of according to SOP guidelines. Overall appearance should be welcoming, clean, sanitized, organized.
10. Regularly communicates with the manager and/or supervisor to determine any outstanding issues, special circumstances, or guest needs for the day.
11. “Flips” lockers consistently to ensure availability and support spa capacity goals.
12. Maintains pools with frequent skimming, staying attentive to any water quality issues and reporting immediately to management any variance from norm.
13. Ensures lounge chairs and furniture are neatly aligned and create a visually appealing guest environment.
14. Escort guests to amenities (e.g., steam rooms, saunas, private pools, lounges) in a friendly, knowledgeable manner. Gracious guest engagement is a must.
15. Monitors all pool areas for guest issues, safety issues, items needing repair, escalating and communicating with management as needed. 
16. Utilizes downtime effectively by reviewing and following checklists, following verbal instructions and/or seeking guidance from a Spa team member.
17. Cross-trains as backup in other areas of Spa as needed.
18. Throughout the day stocks, cleans and organizes treatment rooms, linen shelves, and correlating shared workspaces.
19. Incorporates the resort's culture of service excellence, mission and core values into all aspects of job performance.

20. Provide friendly and professional assistance to guests when needed – whether it’s helping with lockers, providing extra towels, or answering questions.

21. Contribute to creating a welcoming and relaxing spa experience for every guest.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum of one year of housekeeping, custodial, or janitorial experience preferred.
2. CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
3. High school diploma (or equivalent), preferred.
4. Must maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance. 
5. Desire to ensure the best possible guest experience.
6. Must have the ability to communicate and interact with guests in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner.
7. Must be able to maintain consistent energy and a consistent professional demeanor throughout scheduled shifts, including evenings.
8. Ability to work in a quiet environment where the employee may be exposed to heat and steam.
9. Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
10. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, sit, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and push/pull/lift items weighing up to 40 pounds. 
11. This role requires the ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, auditory focus, and visual attention.

Due to the natural environment at Ojo Spa Resorts, all staff must be comfortable outdoors performing physical activities, and be able to navigate uneven ground, diverse terrain, multiple stairs, and be prepared to work in unpredictable weather conditions.
