Component Design Engineers are responsible for the design and development of electronic components. Responsibilities may include: the design of chip layout circuit design, circuit checking, device evaluation and characterization, documentation of specifications, prototype construction and checkout, modification and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components, performing developmental and/or test work, reviewing product requirements and logic diagrams, planning and organizing design projects or phases of design projects. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation flows for logic synthesis, place & route, timing analysis, and physical verification.
• Build scalable infrastructure to support large SoC/ASIC designs.
• Support backend teams with debug and enhancement of EDA tool flows (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence).
• Drive flow innovation to improve quality of results (QoR) and reduce turnaround time.
• Create and maintain scripts in Tcl, Python, Perl, Shell, or similar languages.
• Analyze flow failures and tool issues, collaborating with EDA vendors as needed.
• Monitor flow metrics, generate reports, and provide recommendations to design teams.
• Maintain documentation and provide support and training to design teams on using developed PCells and tools.
• Evaluate and recommend new EDA tools and technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in EDA infrastructure management or a similar role
• Strong knowledge of EDA tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, and Mentor Graphics • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Tcl, Python, Perl, or Shell
• Experience with license management tools and techniques
• Familiarity with high-performance computing environments and resource management

 The compensation range for this role is $[136,750] - $[232,630]. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
