Job Description - Logistician

Position Location: Dahlgren, VA



Job Description and Responsibilities:



The Logistician will ensure that our government customer achieves the desired infrastructure, capabilities, and processes for the deployment of systems and services at the speed of relevance. The Logistician performing on this contract will possess the required skills, experience and credentials at the appropriate clearance level and be responsible for executing collaborative logistics integration and interoperability to enhance command and control, communications, and readiness for our customer.



Duties include but not limited to:




  • Provide logistics meeting support during test and demonstration planning.

  • Maintain the ability to receive training and serve as a logistics support representative on required systems

  • Provide Life-Cycle Logistics Support including component failure tracking and configuration management.

  • Provide load planning and documentation for equipment shipment.

  • Provide test event support including resource identification, planning, delivery, site setup, site daily operation, and retrograde.

  • Maintain close coordination with security personnel to support shipping, receiving, and accountability.

  • Provide Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) Government Furnished Property (GFP) management.

  • Conduct site surveys of proposed test and training locations to determine site and security service requirements.

  • Conduct inventory control of equipment by serial number to ensure all incoming and outgoing system, training and test equipment is recorded in the equipment logbook

  • Arrange for material handling equipment for off-loading, loading, and movement of test and training equipment.

  • Set up and operate test equipment power generation and distribution, and environmental control equipment.



Education:



  • High school diploma or passing score on the General Education Development (GED) exam AND five (5) years professional experience that includes at least three (3) years of experience in providing Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) in one or more of the following: Maintenance Planning, Supply Chain Management/Support, Technical Logistical Data, or Packaging, Handling Storage and Transportation.

  • Two (2) years of specialized technical experience in maintaining provisioning and preparation of government documentation within the logistical technical area’s purview.


  • Relevant experience and years of service may be considered in lieu of required education



Required Experience:





  • Secret Clearance

  • Past performance in supporting DoD related logistics activities and/or field support


  • Ability to work as a member of a team with the skills and personality to lead discussions that results in positive desired outcomes


  • Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Conducting basic networking and emplacement of military systems upon receiving proper training manuals 



Preferred Experience:




  • Experience with managing software and hardware integration and understanding of logistics required for operations


  • Project Management or process improvement experience

  • Understanding of acquisition management support and documentation for fielding software and systems

  • Experience working at military facility locations or field bases.



Travel: Up to 20% based on customer needs
