Job Description - Logistician for Post-Delivery CoordinationJourneyman

The person hired for this position will be a full-time salaried employee of The Concourse Group and will be eligible for full Concourse benefits. This position will satisfy staffing requirements for a 5-year contract but Concourse prioritizes training, development and retainment so the position is intended to have longevity beyond the contract.



SUMMARY


The Concourse Group is seeking a logistician for post-delivery coordination including the coordination of post-delivery events in a ship building context in support of the high-visibility US Coast Guard Waterways Commerce Cutter (WCC) program. The new WCC vessels are complex, modern, and sophisticated; successfully building these vessels requires exceptional talent.


Ideal candidates bring experience in post-delivery logistics support in ship construction, high attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a high ability to organize competing priorities in fast-paced and highly detail-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will also have a background working for or with the USCG, DOD or DHS. A degree is not required but candidates MUST meet the work experience thresholds in a recent and relevant context.



LOCATION


Work location will be on-site full-time in Bayou La Batre, Alabama. Candidates who are not in the project area but willing and able to relocate MUST clearly state that on their resume.



SKILLS AND ABILITIES 



  • Knowledge of ship construction.

  • Knowledge of USCG and DHS policy, procedures and processes.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 software suite, including but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Excel.

  • Proficiency with Primavera.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in-person with clients and co-workers in a collaborative team environment.

  • Ability to analyze and synthesize large data sets and produce concise summaries for senior and executive leaders.

  • Attention to Detail: Critical for tracking parts, documentation, and service records.

  • Ability to maintain clear and accurate record-keeping for audits, compliance, and internal tracking.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, often reactive environment

  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.

  • Leads with a responsive client-first approach.


 


POSSIBLE TASKS



  • The Government may request Contractor Support Program offices in developing strategies and plans for future WCC Post-Delivery and Post Shakedown Availabilities, PDA and PSA, respectively.

  • Utilize Government provided requirements, resources and schedules to create and maintain a post delivery schedule and POA&M for all post- delivery installations, equipment/software upgrades, grooms, certifications, assessments, testing and trials events. There may be some post-delivery activities that are not listed here but will be identified during the production and construction of assets that will require support. These items will be provided by the Government no later than ten (10) months prior to execution of the first PDA.

  • Assist in the research, preparation, and drafting of routine support documentation for requirements packages for post-delivery support activities. Types of routine documentation for these packages include but are not limited to Statements of Work, cost estimates, determinations and other support documentation as required by package type.

  • Monitor execution of each availability and report on work specification package completion and availability percentage completion. This includes identifying work packages to be transitioned into the production and delivery contracts with the shipbuilder for execution prior to delivery to the USCG.

  • Support the project office in coordinating the asset PSAs, PDAs, and support by providing information for sustainment M&R periods to the appropriate Product Line Manager. Additionally, support the project office in the coordination of other post-delivery activities (i.e. Command Assessment of Readiness for Training (CART)/Tailored Annual Cutter Training (TACT), Ready for Operations (RFO) criteria and asset Fully Certified requirements, and Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) events. This includes coordinating and documenting a schedule of the availability with all parties concerned, identifying work to be performed (both planned and as a result of trials and warranty), and assisting with the preparation of any work packages requiring development and coordination with the assigned USCG oversight authority.

  • Support post-delivery activities by ensuring all Government approved work packages and/or TDP’s are provided to appropriate entities (internal or external to the USCG) within established deadlines to meet availability planning milestones and schedules.

  • Maintain a work list and associated tracking that shows actionable tasks to be completed post-delivery. The work list shall contain at a minimum: a description of work to be completed; the approximate timeline to complete; hull applicability; TDP or Work specification package status; and the individual/office responsible.



REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.

  • At least three (3) years of experience in event/technical training planning.

  • Knowledge of ship construction.

  • USCG, DOD, or DHS experience preferred

  1. Must be a U.S. Citizen: Concourse utilizes E-Verify


  2. Must be eligible for a Public Trust Clearance.
