Summary/Objective: The Logistics Assistant is responsible for ensuring the on-time delivery of product by preparing appropriate shipping documents and labels, applying accurate freight rates, and arranging transportation. This position will be located in Hanover Plant 2, but will cover other plants as needed. 

Essential Functions:

• Prepare pack slips, BOLs, and commercial/international invoices


• Contact carrier representatives to arrange shipping and delivery of products. 


• Determine shipping rates using carrier websites and charts


• Contact customer to communicate weight, # of pkgs, and space needed so customer can determine shipping method


• Communicate effectively with customers and other departments regarding shipments


• Supply customer requested tracking information and documentation like QA sheets


• Process FedEx/UPS ground shipments


• Be flexible to support the shipping department when and where needed.


• Understand regulations and requirements for international shipping
