Job Description - Logistics Associate

EOS IT Management Solutions is a leading IT and Logistics company. We specialize in innovative IT logistics services. The organization has grown significantly over the past 5 years and has plans and strategies in place to continue to grow in a sustainable and profitable manner.
To deliver our business plans we want to add to our Logistics team and are currently seeking a candidate to fulfill the role of Logistics Coordinator.
THE POSITION
The Logistics Associate will be responsible for coordinating domestic and international shipments from our global warehousing hubs. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure, in a fast paced environment, with strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a passion for logistics as well as strong customer service skills.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
End to end responsibility for outbound and inbound domestic and international shipments.
Dispatching goods to global destinations.
Requesting quotations from freight forwarders and partners.
Booking shipments with carriers/freight forwarders
Booking local deliveries, using EOS own trucks/vans and preferred suppliers
Coordinating closely with Project Managers to identify deadlines, shipment durations, delivery requirements
Working with Project Managers and customers to establish delivery requirements
Requesting and providing COI information as needed
Create trade documents, such as commercial invoice, including any consular, legislation or translation activities as per customer requirements.
Work closely with the trade and compliance team to ensure export permits/licenses are in place to allow for the smooth export/import of goods where required
Tracking cost, variations and changes & report to management
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Previous experience in
Logistics
ideally with experience in
international shipments.
Experience in assigning commodity codes of products.
Working knowledge of Incoterms.
Secondary or Higher Education.
Pro-active and flexible with a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
Organized, accurate and a strong attention to detail.
Experience of working in a busy and diverse team environment.
Good problem solver
who works methodically, to tight deadlines within a pressurized environment.
Strong commercial awareness and understanding
Good inter-personal skills; able to communicate at all levels across the business and work closely within the team.
